VALUE - Value based healthcare supported by process mining tools

The burden of longer life expectancy with a prevalence of chronic diseases and multimorbidity on the rise is becoming unsustainable for public healthcare. The problem is systemic and risks the sustainability of the current healthcare model in Europe.

VALUE solution helps to become digital health transformation into reality. Defeating patient illness and restoring health to the patient is the dominating concept on which the provision of health services by most centers is managed. Increasing prevalence of chronic disease among the population is jeopardizing the sustainability of the current healthcare system. VALUE is a solution aimed at care providers to deliver healthcare services providing value to the patients, while keeping healthcare sustainable.

Aims

Digital health transformation together with Value-Based Healthcare could ease the burden pressure improving protocols and pathways and making them more efficient. Unfortunately, adoption of digital tools, like AI, remains poor, failing to breach acceptance barriers. Interactive Process Mining is the best ML approach to study clinical pathways and patient care flows for supporting healthcare improvement, because it is a methodology, specifically conceived to involve the clinical expert in the production of the AI models, incorporating their medical and clinical knowledge in building and interpreting the models.

VALUE will provide a full interoperable Interactive Process Mining tool, offering optimization services to healthcare organizations

VALUE consortium expects to develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) consisting into a Interactive Process Mining software interoperable with available hospital information systems. To exploit the software the partners will develop infrastructure and services for value based-care assessment and process optimization to offer to their hospital customers through their vast and already existing market infrastructure. Market introduction will be done, in a first stage, following a “as a service” model. depending on the customer “on-site” deployments may be considered. During the first year of commercialization the service will be offered to at least 19 different healthcare providers (including private and public customers).
