01 October 2018

26th-27th September, Debrecen (Hungary)

Enrique Alcántar, Head of Innovation in Sports at IBV, took part past 26th and 27th of September in the Open Conference organized by the European Project Inno4Sports and also in the project meetings itself.

During the Conferencem Hungarian experts introduced the latest trends in the field of recreational fitness and the best athletes at Debrecen University, like the Sport Strategy of this University, the Presentation of a locally developed sport equipment, the role of IT on Winter Olympics or how to integrate smart tools into the health programme of a workplace.

The project partners, IBV included, met the 27th to share best practices ant to carry out the Interregional Steering Group and the Thematic Coordination Meeting.

The overall objective of Inno4Sports is to improve the performance of research-based clusters in the field of the sports, by strengthening their potentials for quadruple helix cooperation as well as creating synergies with smart specialization processes, to address the changes in the societal role of sports and use it as a vehicle for economic regional growth.

Inno4Sports places itself in the context of socio economic transformations in Europe that open up new dimensions for the capitalisation of sports ecosystems. The potentials of Sport ecosystems have started to be been recognized at EU level as drivers for innovation and growth with a high potential for cross-sectoral spill-overs and interlinkages with various societal and economic fields. Still, at regional levels, they remain underdeveloped, due to existing inconsistencies and an underrepresentation of the potentials created by sports innovation within RIS3 and regional development programmes.
