ADULT ANTHR-DATA. “Making harmonised standards inclusive/gender-responsive”

IBV is the Technical Project Leader of this Tender, founded by the European Commission and EFTA through DIN, whose objective is to research on the needs for and availability of anthropometric data of adults in the context of inclusive/gender-responsive standards.

Aims

The first item of the project is carrying out an investigation of the needs for anthropometric data considering:

  • Basic human body measurements for technological design,

  • Referred to the standards identified to have an anthropometric dimension by the Commission study on harmonized standards and their inclusiveness and gender-responsiveness.

The second item is to identify the anthropometric data available EU-wide in relevant private and public databases evaluating the identified anthropometric data with regard to suitability for standardization, including accessibility of such databases.

Finally, to compare the list of anthropometric parameters needed with the available (up-to-date) data identified to determine and specify the missing anthropometric data.
